Mentoring
One Another
by Dr. Waylon B. Moore
We are to flavor our church fellowship with Mentoring, like streaks of
chocolate lacing through vanilla ice cream. Each believer invests in and lifts
another believer toward Christ. One hand puts on another hand's glove.
Mentoring is no mystery. God spells action out for us in Scripture as small,
powerful acts of love. We touch others in the Spirit's power. Then Christ's
Body grows and people are changed. Those blessed, in turn, begin acts of
mentoring. Here are some of the many ways this week you can get into the hearts
and lives of others and bless them eternally:
-
Be
devoted
to one another in brotherly love (Romans 12:10, NIV)
-
In honor
preferring
one another (Romans 12:10)
-
Owe no man anything but to
love
one another (Romans 13:8)
-
Accept
one another (Romans 15:7 NIV)
-
Greet
one another with an holy kiss (2 Corinthians 13:12)
-
By love serve
one another (Galatians 5:13)
-
Be
patient, bearing
with one another in love (Ephesians 4:2)
-
Be
kind and compassionate
to one another,
forgiving
one another (Ephesians 4:32)
-
Submit
to one another out of reverence to Christ (Ephesians 5:21 NIV)
-
Forbearing
one another and
forgiving
one another (Colossians 3:13)
-
Teaching and admonishing
one another (Colossians 3:16)
-
Comfort
one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
-
Build up
(edify) others (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
-
Encourage
one another daily (Hebrews 3:13)
-
Consider how we may
spur
one another on to love (Hebrews 10:24)
-
Confess your faults
one to another and
pray for
one another (James 5:16)
